Building Skills in Sexual Health Series: HIV Prevention for Primary Care

Washington Association for Community Health, Washington AIDS Education and Training Center, and Washington State Department of Health are partnering to offer a monthly webinar series that will help Federally Qualified Health Centers leverage the whole care team to address patients’ sexual health.


This is the third webinar of the 9-session series.

OBJECTIVES

Attendees will be able to:

  • Review the definition of PrEP, including its efficacy, risks, and benefits

  • Discuss who should think about taking PrEP

  • Discuss the process for prescribing and monitoring PrEP

  • Review recent updates

  • Discuss concerns about PrEP, including sexual behavior and STIs, and drug resistance

In addition, the WA Department of Health will provide information on PrEP DAP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Drug Assistance Program) including information on enrollment, eligibility, and applying for coverage. Participants will also learn about the Mountain West AIDS Education and Training Center’s HIV Prevention Coaching Program, a 1-on-1 coaching program for providers wishing to increase their knowledge and capacity on PrEP and HIV prevention through individualized coaching.
